Oct 13,  · Curtis and JB were the forgotten men of funk and by the late '70s/early '80s they had got sucked into the whole disco thing which undermined their credentials. It was even before the Rare Groove thing revitalised funk in the mid '80s. This album 'Got To Find A Way' has to be one of CM's finest. The grooves are bare-wires funk, so stripped back/5().

Two albums on one CD by one of Soul Music's finest and most gifted songwriter/performers. Both Sweet Exorcist and Got to Find a Way were released in on Mayfield's own Curtom label, with both making the Billboard national album chart. 13 tracks. Charly. /5(18).

bezogen auf Got To Find A Way, LP, Album, Cap, CRS Back in the early '80s you could pick up copies of this and other Curtis albums for very little £s. I got this for about 50p around and I paid 25p for a copy of Short Eyes.

Got to Find a Way is the sixth studio album by Curtis Mayfield, released in November "Ain't No Love Lost" was a particular highlight, and "Mother's Son" sees a scaling down of some of the large arrangements Mayfield often utilized/5(3).

There is not an idea on Got To Find A Way that Curtis Mayfield had not developed since Curtis--his first after leaving the Impressions in But that only reinforces the maxim: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. And Mayfield's synergy of hard funk and sweet soul, two sounds that seemed unmatchable in the early 70s are in perfect form here/5(5).

Sweet Exorcist/Got to find a Way. Two essential albums by the great man. 'Cannot find a way' is the first album I bought by Curtis, some forty years ago. It remains my favourite by him. Listen to the fantastic groove of 'Cannot find a way,' the exquisite 'So you don't love me' or the beauty of 'A Prayer.' One of my favourite albums of all-time/5(14).
